Hi, On the relatively few engines that I have analysed am I right in saying that opening/closing and duration of both inlet and exhaust valves are somewhat variable. This may be why it seems difficult to get a set of standard valve timing figures from anywhere. Also the position of the crank cam gear on the crank seems to have similar variation. Is this true of both statements. I have not explored lift yet but I guess this will be the same. Any help on this would be appreciated.
