Yes I race a pro kart, used to build my own engines, got to where I became good enough driver to be competitive & had to get race engines built. If you price a rebuild in parts alone, it can be pricey, parts are about £100 per engine for a full rebuild (approx) & you still have old engines. Best place for Honda parts www.gx160parts.com/ Most power with a GX160 is lost through gas leakage from the valves; a very good valve seat & new valves are a must & fitted with the new G4 valve springs (G4 will last a season). After that a good bore & clean sharp piston rings & NEVER clean the carbon off the heads or piston crown, let it build up (free compression increase & it’s legal). I will not say anything about oil cause you get a lot of “action” on here if you do, look in old posts on here for more information. If you are racing for fun a GX160 will do 2 seasons or more, but to “on the pace” a takes a lot more. One last thing I was always told with engine rebuilds “cleanliness is next to godliness”. Hope it helps - James
