I agree, and I wasn`t trying to be picky either. To be honest, I have little experience with regards to endurance racing, but I have spent long enough at Three Sisters to know rolling starts. I`m not really sure why safety cars were mentioned really, but that wouldn`t work on a short circuit.
The polesitter controls the pace of the formation lap, which shouldn`t be too fast, or for that matter too slow, although I did know one driver who, when on pole, took them around at a snails pace.....
Yes, the trackside marshals and observers can instruct stragglers to put their foot down and join the main pack, this can be particuarly prevelant in TKM extreme, where `oiling up` can often occur, but once the rolling lap is complete, it is then up to the starter as to whether he is happy with the formation of the karts and whether to let them go, or declare a false start.
