Usually we just alter the jetting when we know we have the right sprocket on but want to "eek" out a bit more oomph from the engine at the top end of a straight or our of a corner.

What we found helped was trying out different sprocket and jetting set ups as sometimes say at a track it's a 72 but you want a bit more go down the main straight without sacrificing goign down on the sprocket, then going up a couple on the jet can help make a difference.

I guess if you go out for a test day and have a little play around it'll certainly help you to gain little advantages!
