We run TKM 4S. Axles sizes and grades do make a big difference to the karts handling.

E.G.

In very hot grippy conditions we were suffering from too much grip and hopping on the corners loosing lots of time.
Changed the 50mm medium axles to a 50mm soft axle , with no other changes to the kart , it cured the problem and gave us the race win.

Also big difference in the wet running a 40mm axle and a 50mm axle. 40 mm gives more grip than a hard 50mm , also in TKM lets us put the wheels in further with a 40mm axle.

We run 50mm only now so have had to cut a 50mm shorter to use in the wet.
