The GX200 gasket is probably worth about 1/2 a second. Assuming that nothing else has changed the problem is probably with the work you have done. Did you only change rings or did you do ANYTHING else. Decoke or valves ground?

Is the engine knocking at all?
Firstly a run through with a cheap glaze buster can leave the bore finish far too rough. The effect of this is two fold.

Firstly by the time the engine has an hour on the rings can be virtually worn out and will be as bad as the rings you took out.

Secondly all the fine swarf that is created will drastically wear the big end and cam shaft journals, both of which will start too knock.

The other possability is that you did not leave a cross hatch on the bore and this will not allow the rings to make a good seal.

Having said that 8 seconds is huge, are you really comparing like for like or has anything else changed?

For a DIY ring job, you should not use a cheap 3 leg glaze buster. You are better just using some wet and dry to put a fine cross hatch on. Best of all is a fine ball hone, but they can be hard to come by.

Once you've done this you should then use fine wire wool on the bore to take all the roughness off, almost polish it, then rinse with soap and water and or brake cleaner until a white rag comes away spotless. Then oil.

Once assembled, start the engine and immediately blip the revs up and down, half a dozen time, then let the engine warm up and put 10 laps on it, at normal pace, but ease off on any long straights. NOW CHANGE THE OIL, WHILE STILL HOT.
Your engine is now fully run in.
