…and then some.
But: the power and speed are neither unique nor unprecedented. If that’s all you’re after, for the least possible outlay, don’t mess about trying to boost your Biland or even thinking about buying an Aixro. Just get yourself one of the plentiful and comparatively cheap (to buy!) 2/ gearbox karts. Great fun – simple “solution”.
This is not where the Wankel’s USP lies. Rather, it is first and foremost the unbeatable quality of the driving experience; then there is also the ease of use and ownership as well as the utter beauty and elegance of the package.
As for where to buy: I think you’d find that Woelfle Engineering / Aixro do not sell direct to the general public. You’d have to go to a continental dealer. Find their pricing on their websites. While no one will need reminding that the currency markets – along with all others – are in a huge state of flux, there has been one “constant”: sterling has gone into steep and probably prolonged decline. The pound has lost more than 25% of its value against the euro over the past year. In these shifting sands you will probably be better off buying from UK dealers. But by all means check: I am the first to advocate that we, as consumers, should be looking beyond the confines of our little countries. Not doing so leaves the power on the supply side. For instance, karters in the eurozone should be more aware of what are now, from their perspective, huge savings to be had from buying in the UK (e.g. Swissauto). Then there is also the “cheap” UK VAT rate.
