When I was a nipper, I used to go wiv me mum to watch kart races. She was a bit of a slappa for guys in nomex.
I remember there were big grids of maybe 50 karts at the Race Pro meetings and maybe 30 at the EKI. Both series where running at the same time and sumtimes me mum an I would go to both in the same weekend. Thats how I ended up wid 2 dads.
I remember this geeza who musta thought he owned a diamond mine or sumthin cause he had more teams than Dietrich Mateschitz - like Red Bull, non of dem won. There was also sum young blondie guy who said his Dad was a rock star, us kids all laughed but turns out Status Quo isn't just sum posh rubbish Theresa May says.
I did run into some blokes from Reading a few years ago - they was sellin lines to me sister. They had forin names tho, so probably going to be kicked out of kartin with Spiros, caus o Brexit.
One old guy I remember used to turn up in an ol Ferrari testarossa, but I was a kid then so it could have been a toyota with a body kit. The guy was always cheetin an called himself Blackcrack or sumin. I just thougt he looked like Mr Burns frum The Simpsons.
Is anyone frum Soco, Avak, Red Line, P&O, Spice, MS Kart, Biz, Ariston, Pistnbroke, or others still racin?
What happend also to Bob Pope and Ted? I remember I always wanted to be like them when I growd up. How did 2 big series and must be 60+ teams just dissapear?
