3 bolts. Used to use 6 but been on 3 for about 2 years. Will change to 6 as obviously easy to do. Kerbing wise, maybe but I don't really think so. He isn't a mega thug on the kerbs usually and he would tell me (I think) if there'd been any big hits followed by a DNF plus I watch him like a hawk. We've thought about this too and concluded that kerbing would knock the engine backwards and loosen the chain and maybe throw it off. When ours fails it is as if the engine has moved forward and created very high chain tension. Thanks for your thoughts, if it costs me three bolts to fix I'll be stoked!
