Hi Bobster, crikey 10kg over the minimum is a lot, and to be honest mate, I think you need to focus on your chassis set-up opposed to any engine or transmission changes, it just wont make any difference. But on the plus side Myles Apps was well over the minimum weight but he demolished everyone at Buckmore S1 and 2off O-plates, so it can be done.
Anything that you can do to get the kart to release off the corners will be invaluable, so think along the lines of a very wide rear axle, short stubby rear bubs, narrow rear rims, perhaps even try very high rear pressures to reduce the contact patch, rear axle in the top hole, soft seat.
Also I'm pleased to report that it all came together for us on sunday and my lad got his first ever podium at Buckmore with a solid 3rd place, quite an emotional moment I must say, the scrutineers fully stripped the cyl-heads on all the top 3 motors, now I have a nice bucket of parts to re-assemble!
