It's hardly likely that a large company like Honda would have deemed the MSA or ABkC or any other kart body, of enough significant interest to inform them of any minor change in their production.
It is patently obvious that if a mass production lawn mower engine is used for a purpose outside of its intended design, then changes in production are going to be missed quite easily and it is highly likely that those changes will catch people out.
It obviously caught you with your troussers unexpectedly down, therefore the sensible and decent course of action would be to let unexpected changes stand until you've sorted the mess out.
It's easy to hide behind a regulation reference number whilst in a position of extreme embarrassment and in a state of undress, every other body covers its ar$e in a similar manner to avoid doing the sensible thing so why be any different.
Genuine full marks as usual to you and Kelvin for poking your heads over the parapetto to get shot at.
Still a bloody mess though.
