Surely... 'the area under the curve' is VASTLY less accurate when you measure just 3 or 5 points on that curve and guess the rest? (Which is what is done in an 'oil pump' dyno.) Sir Isaac Newton told us all how to calculate the more accurate figure in his work on 'calculus'!
