If you think you might want to race, then it will a mistake to 'uprate' your motors at all as you'll get a false impression of how quick you are.
Assuming you will race,.... then.....
1) Go and do a serious amount of practicing. 2) Use your Alfano/Micron to record your lap performance and use that to enhance your 'next' drive. See what works from the data and then repeat that! 3) Get your team mate to drive the kart and compare his SECTION (not lap) times with yours and find out why he/you are quicker on that section than him/you. Then just copy what he/you is doing. That way, you both/three will improve, hugely. 4) Get your existing performance down to.... let's guess..... 2 seconds of a reasonable lap time (not lap record) and be able to deliver that (or VERY near that) 10 laps in a row. Fast consistency is what endurance racing is about.... NOT one blistering lap and 9 other rubbish ones!
Then you'll be ready to upgrade your kit to full race spec and go racing.
There's simply no point in spending much on the kart until you can drive quickly and seriously reliably (lap times). Your current kart/engines will be great for this first stage and it won't cost you a lot!
The quotation is usually: get loads of 'seat time'!
