We, the Tyne & Wear Kart Club members received this notice from Guy Wilkes the owner of Warden Law a couple of days after the last race meeting of the 2014
The Tyne & Wear Kart Club
Dear Competitors,
For more than two years the Tyne & Wear Kart Club has been slipping further into financial difficulty. This is down to the declining numbers attending Tyne & Wear Kart Club race days. I took the decision this time last year to allow one more year, even though the Club was already struggling.
Unfortunately the situation has become worse and as some of you had already commented “how long can the club survive on these numbers, the plain truth is, it couldn’t last year and hasn’t this year.
It gives me no pleasure to say, the Tyne & Wear Kart Club will no longer exist and owner driver club racing at Warden Law has unfortunately ceased. I wanted to let you know as early as possible so you can make arrangements for 2015.
Myself and Bill would like to thank you all for your support towards race day and the club over the years, and especially those who have supported right until the end.
We would love to see as many regulars, as well as old faces, at the 2014 prize presentation (entry will be free of charge) for a social and to celebrate the achievements of this seasons driver’s on Sunday 7th December at 6.00 PM at The Copt Hill Seaham Road, Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear DH5 8LU.
I personally would like to thanks Anton for his dedication towards race day for all the years he has been here.
Thank you,
Guy and Bill
