So doesn't anybody have a point of view that just carrying lead in itself has a penalty? And that minimum weight in Cadets should reflect the fact that bigger stronger kids get an advantage anyway without penalising the smaller ones with heavier karts?

Jumping to the next class as soon as the minimum weight is achieved is counter productive, there have been plenty of top flight cadet drivers over weight.

The MSA would be better off looking at ways of keeping engines more equal, that's where the real power to weight issues are relevent.
