I would pay a premium to at Warden Law as the facilities are really good and it benefits from an on-site paramedic and MSA Clerks and Scrutineer (sometimes over officious but I would rather have that than the opposite).
As I have said before, however, there should be as few barriers to go racing in place as possible and booking in advance or be fined and the inability to pay on the day are, unfortunately, keeping people away. I quite like the ability to book in and pay on-line and would probably do this anyway to save a bit of time on a Sunday morning but until the club got back to the point where grids were full (like 2010) I don't see the need to make this 100% compulsory.
Unfortunately I have seen this once before (and certainly before the Internet was as prevalent as it now is) and what was a great little club with long standing membership be destroyed in a matter of months. And we all ended up at either Warden Law, Teesside and/or, the former two due to the continued ease of access to go racing.
The big difference here, however, is the club officials are prepared to listen to our concerns and will adapt and adopt as we, the drivers and customers, require. Tyre change in 2013 and an engine introduction this year. We asked and we got - the weight limit will be the same.
Is it perfect? far from it but the spirit in the paddock is as good as it has been in years and save for the racing itself isn't that why we do this? Garry you are missed and we look forward to your presence with some others in May.
In the meantime long live the prokart!!
Graeme
