When you see power figures, they can only be directly compared to other engines that have come off the same dyno. The figures can be adjusted for the climatic conditions to keep consistency.

From the power figures I've seen quoted on this site's market place, I would expect that if you put the same engine on RPM's and then UFO's dyno, you would see something like 1.5 bhp difference.

Onto Ian's point, there tends to be two figures provided for the GX160; a mean figure and then a peak figure. The mean figure is the one that most people use as that gives you a much better representation on how the engine will perform at the track.

The engine builders often provide you with a power curve which is plotted against a benchmark engine so you can get an instant comparison.
