As you're relatively new to karting, the easiest way to find out if there's anything obviously wrong with the handling is getting someone with more experience to drive it. If you do it yourself, just remember the golden rule - one adjustment at a time!

Did you ever find out what type of chassis it was?

Ref DOT 5, can't help you there as I've never used the stuff. Which brake system are you using?
