There is, however, nothing more constant than change and this is so in the world of Honda
When I first started it was the end of the over-bored era and over night the old engines were redundant. Then it was back to standard k spec motors then along came the E spec. And because they were generally better than the "select" Ks so they became the choice motor. Next the T1, oh and guess what, they were better again, the UT1 and now the T2. And throughout all of this there has been SPs albeit they were never always marketed as such.
The flywheel timing just highlighted one area but will it really make a massive difference? I don't think so. Big engines will still be big engines.
Without doubt there will need to be a transition between 160 and 200s and I don't see this being an issue as the lap time difference isn't as great as I maybe first expected. But in a years time the 200s will come on the 2nd hand market as teams gear up for next season and say they are £150 this must draw clubmen prokarters to take the plunge. And so it hopefully will continue.
