We suffered a shattered rear wheel and a bent axle on the second bend of the first lap of the race. Everyone fighting for the corner on cold tyres and we came off damaged as a result of a rather large shunt.

Took us an hour to get the axle straightened, fit new hub and get running again.....only for another kart cause damage later on and bent the axle again!!

Not a good night for us......engines running really well but lots of niggly problems getting in the way.

The new pit lane rules seemed a bit over the top. From what we witnessed while working on the kart it was lucky there wasn't an accident whilst drivers were trying to push their karts in a running fashion to save time....then problems with drivers struggling to restart engines. Hope its altered for the next rtace as a lot of drivers wernt too impressed.
