"Hi where I raced last year all the big boys were using super unleaded fuel mixed with aircraft fuel the fuel turns blue and also know of someone using 100% aircraft fuel and it did make a difference"
100LL is an aviation spec fuel and costs around £2.00 a litre from the pump at Biggin Hill.
You can only use it in your kart outside of MSA regs. Since it contains lead (that's what LL stands for) many tracks might be unwilling for it to be used, for all the reasons that lead in petrol has been restricted for decades.
While 100LL is blue (so you can see fuel leaks easily on the wings and fuselage) not all blue fuel is 100LL. We dye our oil Blue or Red (Blue for 747, 'normal oil' and Red for R40 ' running in oil' so that we can see at a glance that there is oil in the petrol and which type of oil. At two pipette drops in a litre of oil, it's a lot safer than forgetting, or leaving the tie wrap on the fuel can when you refilled with petrol or trying to shake the tank to see if it foams.
