Seems to be alot of confusion on what OEM parts are, although in the context of Honda they don't exist anyway. OEM parts are identical to the genuine part and refers to where a manufacturer contracts out part production to another company, who in turn sells the same unbranded but identical part from the back door. To my knowledge this does not happen with Honda parts. But you can buy genuine Honda parts direct from various sellers in Thailand which come from the exact same Honda factory in the same packing but without the European market price hike. They are identical in every way to an officially imported part but can be a quarter the price. You can also get OEM Japanese carbs as take offs or even seperately from the states, these should also be legal as well, but worth checking.
Next you have Chinese made Honda carbs (and engines) made in a Honda factory, which although identical to the Thailand/Japanese engines they are built for the 3rd world and are not homolagated for sale in Europe and would probably fail scrutineering. There is at least one Ebay seller (Blackburn) who is punting these out as genuine 'European' spec Honda though. Give away is dot matrix rather than stamped engine numbers.
Finally you have chinese copy carbs, these while fine for your generator, will not help your performance and can be spotted at 20 yards by somebody who knows their onions(or Honda's).
