Well Brian i am supprised you haved not read the new fiche for the T1 and T2's The changes which can be made to the T2 are the same as the original T1. with other small changes to both engines only one thin shim gasket in the T2. four in the T1 and a choice of three emulsifying tubes ( the old two plus the std. T2 item) No stepped keys - timing as per std. for each eng. The T2 has tubalar push rods, no rotator on the exhaust valve, differnt size valves and a differnt head form. Plus the major change to the cam profile basically as per GX 200. also both the new exhaust and old are interchangable as are the crankshafts no other parts are. Bare in mind their are limited if any spare parts advaiable todate to build SP engines so the T2 will get better as this situation improves. Hope this helps dispose the myths
