The main reason I have chosen to play around with teh GX160 engines is 4 stokes are the only engine type alowed at Clay Pigeon on Monday to Thursday, they can also be used in Friday & Saturday. 2 Strokes can ONLY be used on Friday & Saturday. So with a 4 stoke I can go and play in teh kart far more days.

So my project had to be on 4 strokes. The GX160 is cheap, simple with loads of parts available and with 5.5bhp from a 160cc engine has plenty of room for easy/cheap tuning.

I started this thread to get ideas for tuning, at zero cost, the GX160 from others who have already done the same thing and to ask people to have a look at the blog I've started about the project (http://www.kart-crazy.co.uk/Blog/).

I did not start the tread to start and argument about which engine or type of engine is best.

I'd love to hear ideas for tuning the GX160 - thanks.
