Don't be put off by the previous comment on cost. Getting started does not mean buying the newest of or the top spec of kit. There is a perfectly good, proven, complete chassis advertised on this site for just Ł1500.

If you are starting out you can expect more damage and mistakes as you get to grips with all that you need to learn and it is far more cost effective to do so with some used kit at sensible initial outlay.

There are drivers on grids at the moment that are further up the field than they should be due to their motors. Learning to set the kart up and drive will always deliver more performance gain in the long run. Big engines simply mask a lack of the foregoing.

I have not been to Rye but the series is well supported. If you fancy experiencing new circuits EPEC has several rounds in and around the south this year and run a no wets rule to keep the cost down. If you have all three god help the rest of us!

Best advice would be to visit the circuits near you that run Prokarts and speak to the teams. They may be better placed to know what is available for sale and what you should expect when you start.
