I disagree, if you're running out the box engines, no cam tweek or torque hone, let alone selected parts then you can expect to find relatively large chunks of time from having the engines looked at. I would guess at up to about a second, unless you were super lucky with the out the box engines. It's quite obvious that you need to be consistant to benefit from this, but it sounds like your driver is most of the way there.

As for the cracked chassis and tyres, who knows, stranger things have happened than you will go slower, but there is only one way to find out.
