As Brian says both are fine as long as water level is correct, however there will be a temperature differential (loss) across the radiator depending on it's efficiency. Biland recommend fitting the temperature sensor to the "hottest" possible location, namely the outlet of the engine which then routes to the top (inlet) of the radiator. It is very important to note when mounting the radiator that it's top surface is 4cms. higher than the engine to ensure effective circulation. If you have one, refer to Biland Installation Instructions pages 5, 8 and 10. In March 2003 an "Air Bleed Pipe" was incorporated which enabled air to bleed from the top of the water pump housing to the top of the radiator thus ensuring that any air pocket developing within the pump does not cause cavitation and prevent circulation of coolant even if the level did drop slightly. Monitoring of the "overflow" bottle should alert you of any coolant loss.
