1:3 opens the valve further than 1:2 and 1:2 opens the valve further than 1:1 (and stresses valve train more)

The valve size and amount of lift are governed by the choke size of the carb.

Too much lift is wasted energy.

Accuracy of the ratio/lever is down to the accuracy of the maker

More mixture=bigger bang
