The general school of thought is a proper set of selected parts motors will be worth about 0.3 per lap over a standard tuned set...

That is probably on your ultimate pace. I think over a good stint they could probably be worth as much as 0.5 per lap, simply because they will make up for your mistakes. The big benefit is in traffic as you'll just drive past folk even if your exit was rubbish.

A really good set of motors make up for a lot, those that have them will down play the advantage. Because there are definately a few out there who couldn't drive a pig with a stick... Yet they are rubbing wheels with seriously more talented people, that's the differnce a good set of motors makes.
