personally I think there is more to be gained in driver and set up than engine the winner of the w/law prokart clubman 2010 is testament to that.
I have non sp rpm motors on my prokart which are strong on track and will dyno better than a lot of good sps but they have 60 hours on now and have improved so much from new, they now have a much flatter power curve and are still holding 5.3hp at 5900rpm compared to 4.5hp they had at the same revs when new.
I have an sp on my lads cadet that has also made similar gains with 70 hours use but as was an sp it set off with more power in the first place and has turned into a very healthy motor with good torque and a big top end.
so buying again what would i buy sp or non sp?? its human nature I would always buy the best I can afford! but in saying all this I do know when we changed from our old engine to big sp we found nothing on a cadet round warden law but this could vary between different circuits.
