If you are going to 'do' karting, then you'll need to learn to rebuild carbs etc., at some point. Karting is not 'game console', it's about working on what you have.
It's all pretty simple. Work on it in:-
1) Clean 2) well lit 3) Comfortable 4) V*E*N*T*I*L*A*T*E*D (you are working with petrol!)
....conditions
Have a cup of coffee (or tea) beside you and a pencil and paper to note the ORDER of removing things. If you are a 'modern person', use your digital camera or mobile phone to take pictures as you dismantle and you'll be able to reverse the process easily.
Ideally, get a compressor...... probably THE most useful tool in the WORLD..... but if not... go to a camera shop and buy a can of compressed air (I am NOT joking!) and that'll help a bit to 'blow' things clean.
Buy some 'Bradex Easy Start' (any decent garage shop or even Halfords......) and use that as a cleaner for components . Do NOT inhale!
Make SURE you have small 'cups' (tin lids, paint pots, tobacco tins, etc., into which to store the items as you dismatle.
Bite the bullet and GO for it. If it was difficult, none of us would have managed to learn!
