Mark, is it m6 or m8, if it's m6 then I'm sure you could redrill it and tap it out to m8.
If it's an old m8 type then possible to drill it out 8mm and nut and bolt it.if not I may have a spare carrier, if so I'll bring it but I'm not home till Thursday to check which is leaving it a bit late. If your still stuck by the time you get there come and see us and I'm sure I can bodge it.
