O MY GOD YOU MUST BE THINKING! i know we have had this subject before, but it didn't concern me til now, so i didn't take much notice of the advice the last chap got that raised the question last time. i have got some great engines that i got from jeff johnson (prokart engineering) soon as i bolted them on to my old kart i went half a second faster, after getting a wright R2 chassis off him aswell i started winning races and then won last summers sprint series, yeha, thanks jeff. But of late i race against a lad that is very good and since his dad found some longer conrods (5 thou) he said , he most of the time has had the upper hand, although i won last wks final i only did so by taking the defensive lines, he had more grunt down the straights. i have tried all the set ups etc but no joy, incase anyone thinks they may be cheeting , there not, they arn't that type of people! But second is the first loser and in some sprint finals he wins by 2to3 seconds, it doesn't sound much but it isnt a race for him or me, so the question is> " forget the dosh aspect of it,are part selected engines any faster than a good race prep'd one???"
