Greg.....

If I remember, correctly, you have some 'disability' (sorry if that's the wrong word, it's not meant to be an insult). I don't know if that restricts your ability to move around the pits and paddock area but, if it doesn't, then don't wait for people to come to you, just walk (or whatever) up to people and ASK.

As previously mentioned, if they seem to be tearing their hair out.... that wouldn't be a good time but....

If they've had no disasters in nthe heat, it may be a good idea to go the place where karts are released after each heat. At that stage, the person MAY have had no incidents or breakages in that heat and may have a litle bit of time to talk. If they've won.... they'll be 'hyper' but those who have merely finished well may still have their feet on the ground.

The other thing to look for are people who seem to have the same 'ethos' as yourself. If yopu drive a HUGE BMW and have a spare otorhome, then you may want to talk to people who arrive in similar. If you expect to arrive with the kart on a roof rack (and many do) then find someone who arrives with the kart on a roof rack, etc..

It's all basic common sense. Most karters (with notable exceptions like myself) are nice people and WANT to talk about their karts!
