`Most people nowadays just want to get in and drive, the Rotax 'EXPERIMENT' tried to address this but has patently failed and ultimately only a 4 stroke engine is going to do it.`
Mmmm......yet in S1, there are, I think well over 200 rotax entries across the class, whilst 4/ virtually struggles to make up a grid.
In club meetings, you could race Max at pretty much any track in the country........can you say the same for ANY 4/ derivative?
I was quite impressed with the Biland class for a short while, having witnessed a round of the Biland challenge, which was hosted at a GYG clubbie a few years ago........but that class has now all but disappeared..........4/ racing is dying on it`s feet.
We are getting off subject a little really......there will always be a place for prokarting, in either short format or endurance, it is a great class for the older, heavier guys to enjoy their racing, in what has been quite correctly said, in the friendliest of atmospheres. It most certainly has it`s place and will continue to do well..........but to compare it to 2/ is akin to trying to compare Real Madrid to Accrington Stanley........sure, they both play the same game........but........
That said, I am definately not having a go at any class or format........if you enjoy your racing, and it suits your budget.......go for it.
