Gaz, I don't think you realise that the Elite drivers once started as novices too during a time when the UK Prokarting scene was massive - A, B and C finals and all that. So they will have had this experience and like all experiences it is learned from to improve. I have said before that at my first race at WL about 7 years ago the grid was massive, we raced over 20 lap heats and a 25 lap final and I got lapped by the then Elites. In fact I got punted off in the process and smashed a brake disk. Can't recall that it put me off but I can assure you it made me determined to never get lapped again and I tested loads before I returned.
