What Positivekarter says is very true. As a rule, people will always think that what they have is the best. Not many people like to admit to themselves that they have bought and settled for second best!
I guess that unless you have a real problem with the kit that you have spent money on, and in the case of a caliper, it can be quite a lot of money, you work with it to get it to your own point of preference. You then make your own decision about the maintenance, parts availability etc and live with it.
The Kelgate that was on a former DXI-SIN 7 Kart chassis was too much like an on/off switch for my liking. Had it been mine, I would probably have adjusted it to my own preference. You have to say that those boys did have a pretty quick setup!
Whichever caliper you opt for though, I reckon that a self-adjusting, floating mechanism is definitely the better bet, and an absolute must for endurance racing.
