I don’t know what’s on the new owners’ minds, but am pretty confident that you need not be concerned. Sandown and Lydd are two entirely different business propositions; it clearly makes no commercial sense to have any owner/driver karting at Sandown.
Lydd needs a mix; their own press release stresses that. Of course they’ll have to attract more corporate business. If they don’t, we’ll lose the place just as surely as we would have if Daytona hadn’t taken over.
All the talk, also in the press release, is of substantial investment, so it seems your – and my – hope that the place is substantially smartened up will not go unfulfilled. After all, they have to do that to attract the corporate business they also need.
It all sounds like the best possible news to me.
