we used to use it for practice days at Rednal karting a few years ago. We would buy used tyres off ebay soak them in grip a few days then they would give us hours of fun on a practice day. Very cheap way of getting more life out of used tyres. As long as they had some rubber left on them they were good to go. Used to get it from Demon Tweeks , however it is expensive nowadays, not sure how much it is on ebay though.

Bit pointless using them for racing as they have to be soaked for at least 2-3 days to work , and new tyres are used on race weekend.

Also the smell is so strong you wouldn't need a tyre sniffer anyway LOL
