Hello, I sent my GX200 engine off for a rebuild. And after a lengthy discussion we decided that I was best to get a new block and head, piston etc, everything bar the plastic casing.
We examined the old engine, there was one main point we noticed. There was a 8 degree woodruff/timing key inserted, but there was a lot of movement on the flywheel. Is this normal? Is this what 'advances' the timing?
Also I discussed about putting a new GX160 head on it, he didn't think it would make that much difference to performance as I'm using a bigger air filter and single piece exhaust. I've got a bigger jet to compensate. Can anyone comment? Obviously using G4 / GX140 valve springs.
I'm using this in the open event at Stretton. I've also been contemplating running a Mikuni carburettor instead to increase the power output. Has anyone used these before?
Help and comments welcome :)
