You can do more harm lapping valves too often because your taking life out of the engine. Same goes for putting in new rings. Often when i go to get mine done, they put them on the dyno and if the reading is still as good as last then they are left. I wouldnt set a time table for when to things. I change the oil regular as for valves well G4s are pretty good now so im told.
