Don't get confused between Gold and green Cool Power. They are completely different.
IMO Cool Power Gold is double edged. One of the reasons that it makes engines faster is because they wear faster and so are looser. But the top performance window is quite small.
I used to run in with cool power but after a lot of early engine failures (big ends and cam journals)I prefer to run engines in now with better quality mineral oil. As previously mentioned some good hard use under load for the first few minutes (on the dyno or using the brake on the kart) and then varying loads for about half an hour. Then change the oil to cool power Gold for the next 6 - 10 hours (change every 2 or 3), before going to top quality sythentic (experiment with different viscosity depending on temperature.) This could be Cool Power Green, Motul, Mobil 1 etc.
On the higher revving and higher stressed GX120, I've found this method greatly extends the time for peak engine condition and reduces engine wear.
If you have more time than money and hate throwing away almost new oil, drain your oil as often as you can (especially during run in) and put it through a modified oil filter or even just a coffee filter in a funnel(takes a while). Even just taking it out and leaving it in a mixing tube overnight you will find all the particles will drop down and you can pour off the decent oil.
