I disagree entirely. For me tyres is one of the main problems in modern karting. It's not just cost, I gave 3 new sets (prizes from last years class) and 8 part used sets away recently to the local circuits kart school. But already my garage is filling up with effectively nearly new tyres again. Why? Yes it's expensive, but more importantly its wasteful.
We race at a relatively high level, my travelling expenses alone for a weekends racing in the UK (I live 1000km away in SW France)or even just the North of France can be £500+. But even so, I will often decide whether or not to put in an entry based on whether I have to buy tyres or not.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this. So you need to ask whether you want big grids or big spenders? I know what I'd prefer.
