Is the left hand engine clutch usually mounted with the sprocket near the engine [inboard] so that the axle sprocket is nearer to the outer axle support bearing as I cant see any advantage and also the clutch internals are more open to wet,muck etc.
Thanks for instructions Graeme on removal of clutch springs.I had just assumed that a spring shouldnt be stretched further than the clutch expanding limit as it may affect the set tension.Obviously you have done it and had no problems so thats the way to do it
