Cheers Gordon - It was great kicking Howard's Ass round WL on friday - perhaps I shall let him join my team for the rest of the season!!
Serously - had a great day but still have loads to learn. But a big thanks to everyone at 7Kart over the last 7 years - especially Neil Dodson, Gregor & Mall and latterly Chris & Rob. I have owned seven 7Karts in seven years, racing 3 of them to numerous titles and wins in that period. Everyone that knows me knows that I have struggled to get back to the 180KG limit since my shoulder surgery 3 years ago (I used to carry 6kgs of lead!!) and had it not been for this I doubt I would have looked elsewhere. I still look after the other 4 chassis as well as the wider 7Kart community in North East and remain available for advice and parts.
Howard's offer started off no more than a fun day out on the back of watching young lard nurse some broken ribs at Fullbeck a few weeks ago and ended up being one of the best day's testing I have done in years - even when we got it wrong and I drove like a big Jessy.
It is, therefore, with mixed feelings that I look forward to next race day at WL but for the first time in years can I not blame weight or engines (Rog and Paul @ RPM have been busy again with their magic).
Dan and Dave have to come for a run out 1st week in April and if I can fit it round work Carcoon may have some lard (but only if I do the short bit!!).
Graeme
