I copyed this from the Llandow web sight because it has some very good points kindly wrote by OLD K D.
We all know that Prokarts are the least expensive way of getting into the sport. They may not be the fastest out there but I'm sure everyone, including you Dan, would agree that in order to learn the skills of karting a Prokart is not a bad start. It is a great pity that Honda Cadet drivers do not, in the main, graduate into Honda Pros. before moving up to the faster classes. A lot of Dads would save a lot of cash. The posts on UK Karting have stimulated a lot of interest. Even Big Col has contributed. Llandow has a history of Prokarting. Some of the best racing, in the past, has been from Junior Prokarters taking on the old timers in the Senior class. At the February meeting, old faithful No. 22, broke an axle. That will cost a few bob to replace, but overall the cost of running a Prokart, junior or senior is minimal compared to other classes. We need to generate a new generation of karters. We know the circuit at Llandow is respected by all drivers. It is especially suited and challenging for Prokarts. We should all try to promote the Prokart classes, not at the expense of other classes but to entice new drivers, maybe some who have retired or some who would like to race but think that karting is beyond their means. Prokarting is a way into the sport. It can be FUN. It does not have to cost an arm and a leg. I am sure that Llandow has people with the knowledge and expertise to help out budding Prokarters and we could have large grids once more.
