Absolutely NOT! He shouldnt have been allowed to race on them. I dont care if they only bought the Kart the day before. It makes a mockery of us all going round on the same tyres. If he goes charging into a corner and smashes into the back of my kart i stand to lose a substantial amount of money in damage, form a kart that is in nowhere near as good condition as mine. it really annoys me that they are allowed to do this. I'm sure you'd all be up in arms if went out on nice soft slicks. I've tried it in practice and have been 5 seconds a lap quicker than Chens. That doesnt mean to say i am unhappy on Chen's i think its a great leveller and immense fun, even if mine are totally knackered, but this kind of thing ruins it. Also someone was allowed to run 20kgs underweight and i have a feeling it was the same kart, incidentally i have a feeling it was this very kart that took me out and possibly cost me a win. Again i carry 17kgs and am sure no one would be happy with me taking that weight off. If i wasnt doing the whole race on my own i would have told them to bring it in. To say they only got the kart the day before is no excuse, if it doesnt meet the regs it doesnt race. Otherwise if we all take this approach that will be the end of pro karting at 3 sisters.
