To me it's a 'no brainer'
Leave the weight at 180 kilos and have two classes, Pro and Clubman.
Some of the guys who would be eligible to run as Clubmen next year have driven very well this year with very little chance of getting any silverware, Ally and Lewis spring to mind. As Clubmen they will have something to aim for and I am sure that they will be more motivated as a result.
The weight thing is not the way to go .... The skinny fast lads will just go faster and maintain their speed differential over the skinny midfield runners and the nutritionally over achieved will be disadvantaged and lose out.
The Pro / Clubmen split will, in my opinion, help grow the class. The weight option will potentially discourage new entrants and encourage existing runners to move to a different class.
