Super 1 is a brilliantly run premier championship. However those dad and lad entering S1 for the 1st time be aware of what you are entering into. Despite some classes being 2 days only you still need to get to the venue early afternoon, if you can, on the Friday. That is to find a pit space that's not 'in the gods'. And with no parking in the pits there are cars everywhere!!
You will need to collect your pump fuel on the Friday, no or little time on Saturday unless you have a 3rd person. May be less expensive in numbers but certainly not less in time.
Tyres collected and fitted Friday if you can, little time Saturday but not impossible. A right bun fight.
Meeting run to time table. Time to enter park ferme to fit wheels and any setup you may need to do. No adjustments on dummy grid other than tyre pressures otherwise if observed, you will be dumped to back of grid. If late out of park ferme you could be or will be dumped to back of grid. this applies if you are the champion or a novice. It is not club racing.
Timed qualifying is very important. Make sure if nothing else that you are ready.
Although there is plenty of time on Sunday, Saturday is very stressful. 2 practice sessions, timed qualifying and possibly 2 heats. Lots of karts queueing to get in and out of park ferme.
I did this for 16 years. Loved it most of the time. Once you get to understand the format, fantastically satisfying. If you do well, great journey home, even if it is 5 hours down the da***d M6. Bad weekend keep your chin up and try to smile.
I wish everyone who decides to do S1 all the best.
