I would stay put for now with rotax and watch and wait. Moving to x30 is going to cause you alsorts of headaches. Buying a competitive engine out of the box is a good sales pitch, then you got to get all the carbs exhausts bends etc correct. In NKF you will struggle to match MBM waft with them being owners of Force, but you might drop lucky with a decent engine and then wade through all the other issues. For me rotax is a great class the evo kit has levelled the power issues and some confidence needs to go back to the grids. I understand forest edge and around that area the rotax classes are strong and might be worth a visit. If you are staying around Pfi and NKF unless the mind set changes of moving to x30 then you will have no choice , but you will go through alot of pain and money getting competitive. Like you said you can get hold of some great rotax kit at decent money. If you have decent mini motors you will find moving to junior rotax with them and the evo will make you waft wise competitive from the start. I have a close friend who moved from mini to junior x30 and he has spent alot of time and money since March getting competitive and has finally got there on waft, now he is racing. I will be interested to see what you do.
